Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

My personal goal is to find sourced documents that confirm the identify of my GGF's father, as well as the location in County Tipperary Ireland where Michael Treacy was born.

Task List

I am very thankful to the researchers who have provided information related to Martin Treacy (born in Borrisoleigh 1865 and died in Innisfail Australia 1956) , some of which was difficult to determine/confirm from Irish sources given the popularity of his Christian name. Martin is my great grandfather and emigrated to Australia at a very youthful age and formed part of the fabric of those Australian pioneering days in the north. He was a long time member of the Hibernian club in Townsville. I will endeavour to add to this site as much information that I have, once my feeble IT skills catch up to my eagerness. cheers and thanks

My Traceys are from Craig and Derry…the ‘e’ was dropped when my grandparents arrived in Australia, for some reason.
